The Museum and the National Theatre are two distinct elements that emerge from the green horizontal ecosystem, two strong and sculptural magnets. The Museum has multiple itineraries, walks and places for visitors to ‘stay’, and even live with the works of Art. The interior space is a neutral “sequence of ecosystems for Art”, belonging to the greater ecosystem. Places to contemplate Art.
Originating from Riyadh, the Salmani style resonates throughout the complex, throughout the narrow street-like spaces, domes, colonnades, gallery spaces, articulating a “narrative space” that permeates to all public activities.
The pedestrian scheme is basically linear and walkable, essentially flat for comfort, with height of building generally never to surpass a dune height; colors originating from the desert, public spaces, streets, plazas, and gardens undulating with a geometrical and organic composition and materiality.
